BBC Employee Suspended Over Exploitation Of Teenager
The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) has recently announced the suspension of a male staff member of the workforce over allegations surrounding exploitation of a teenager.
According to media reports, the teen victim was compensated with a sum of 45,000 dollars for the sexually-explicit photographs by a BBC presenter.
BBC conducted a thorough investigation in May 2023 which led to the presenter’s suspension. The corporation has appropriate guidelines and policies in place to take action over such allegations and situations.
The government has pressurised BBC to compensate the 17-year-old victim for the exploitation and conduct a thorough investigation in order to take quick action.
In a tweet, Lucy Frazer, Minister of Culture, Media and Sports of the UK expressed her concern over the matter and spoke openly on getting justice for the teenager.
The government has urged the corporation to keep in mind the age of the victim and the adverse effects of the situation while taking strict action.
