ASG Appointments In Progress: Nine Candidates Considered

As the Indian legal community awaits the Centre's official announcement of Additional Solicitors General (ASG) appointments, rumours from the Supreme Court's corridors indicate to nine possible candidates.

According to some sources, nine candidates are being considered for the six Additional Solicitors General (ASG) positions in the Supreme Court of India from a pool of 32. Initially, 32 names were submitted, and 17 were identified. The selection process is now narrowing down, with nine names currently under consideration for the appointments, leaving the final selection pending.

The official list of appointees is unknown, but the anticipated list may include six of the following individuals:

  1. Raghav Shankar, Senior Advocate 
  2. Jitendra Bahar, Senior Advocate 
  3. Raja Thakare, Senior Advocate 
  4. Dwarkanath, Senior Advocate 
  5. Sonia Mathur, Senior Advocate 
  6. Kavin Gulati, Senior Advocate 
  7. S. D. Sanjay, Senior Advocate 
  8. T Suryanarayana, Senior Advocate
