Approx 100 Jobs Slashed At Apple In Its Services Division

Report further stated that several engineering roles and other services teams, such as the one that operates Apple News, are among the ones being laid off

A report by Bloomberg News on Tuesday, Apple Inc. has slashed 100 positions in its digital services division, with the team in charge of the Apple Books app and Apple Bookshop suffering the most losses.

Report further stated that several engineering roles and other services teams, such as the one that operates Apple News, are among the ones being laid off.

Apple Inc has chosen to not comment upon this report to Bloomberg.

The number of personnel working for Apple in its services segment was not immediately apparent. As of September 30, 2023, the corporation employed over 161,000 full-time equivalent workers, according to its most recent annual report.

According to media sources, it had earlier this year shelved a project to design and create its own smartwatch screens and halted work on its next high-end Vision headset.

Since last year, Apple has seen difficulties in China, its third-largest market, where sales fell 6.5% in the most recent quarter.
