Three Senior Executives Quits Jet Airways Amidst Revival Planning

The three top executive officials have resigned from their respective post when the company  is planning to launch a new airline. Among the resigned officials, there are Captains Niraj Chandan (head of flight safety), Vishesh Oberoi (head of operations) and Sorab Variava (head of training). These positions are significant as senior pilots appointed on such posts after the approval of Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).

Last year in June, NCLT (National Company Law Tribunal) approved the JKC’s resolution plan to revive the grounded airline. As per the plan, the consortium agreed to Rs. 475 crore to the grounded airline’s lenders, employees and other creditors. Last month, Jet airways hired three departmental heads; Jagtesh Saini as head of government and regulatory affairs, Abid Qureshi as head of product development and Anchal Dhiman appointed as the head of procurement.

In one of the mails, the spokesperson of Jalan-Kalrock Consortium said "Exits and entries occur in any organisation. The senior management team for Jet Airways is now fully in place, and we remain committed for the earliest recommencement of operations of Jet Airways,"

Earlier, this launch was planned to take place in the month of September but is yet to announce aircraft induction plans. The plan to hire pilots on a large scale is also in the queue.

‘’The liabilities of Jalan-Kalrock consortium are clearly defined in the NCLT-approved resolution plan and the consortium is in full compliance with all the obligations. The implementation of the resolution plan with the banks is moving forward effectively,” added the spokesperson in one of his statements.
