Zomato Co-founder Gunjan Patidar Resigns

Gunjan Patidar, Co-founder and Chief Technology Officer of Zomato, has resigned, the company announced on Monday. This is the fourth significant exit for the Gurugram-based food-tech firm in recent months. Patidar is Zomato's fourth co-founder to leave the company.

Patidar, an IIT-Delhi alumnus, had been with Zomato since 2008 and was responsible for the company's entire tech vertical.

The company in its stock exchange filing, discloses, “Gunjan Patidar was one of the first few employees of Zomato and built the core tech systems for the Company. Over the last ten plus years, he also nurtured a stellar tech leadership team that is capable of taking on the mantle of leading the tech function going forward. His contribution to building Zomato has been invaluable."

In November, Mohit Gupta, another Co-founder of Zomato, left the company. Rahul Ganjoo, head of new initiatives, and Siddharth Jhawar, vice president and head of intercity legends service, both resigned in the same month.

Gaurav Gupta, Co-founder of Zomato, has resigned two months after the company's initial public offering (IPO) in July 2021. Mohit and Gaurav Gupta were appointed co-founders in 2020 and 2019, respectively. Pankaj Chaddah, Zomato's first co-founder, left the company in 2018.
