Tickertape fires 29 employees as part of its restructuring exercise. Company's CEO and Founder Ujjwal Ankur took to Twitter on Thursday to confirm the news.

"Today was one of the most difficult days for me professionally, we at Tickertape had to let go 29 of our colleagues as part of a restructuring exercise", he said in his Twitter post.

Explaining the rationale for the company's decision, Ankur said that it was a necessary step to become financially sustainable.

Delving on the future plan, Ankur said that Tickertape will continue to work diligently in adding considerable value to our users' personal finance goals. We'll concentrate our efforts on the features our users love most, and deliver the delightful experience that Tickertape is known for.
