McKinsey & Co., a leading global consulting firm, has unveiled plans to cut approximately 360 jobs worldwide, affecting roughly 3 per cent of its specialised and technically skilled workforce. The reductions will span across various divisions, including design, data engineering, cloud and software, according to sources cited by Bloomberg.
A spokesperson for McKinsey stated, "We invest to grow capabilities that align with our clients' needs and adjust the size of certain others as necessary. As part of this process, some roles within these specific capabilities will be eliminated."
These job cuts are part of McKinsey's initiative to align the size of certain capabilities with the evolving priorities of its clients. Despite the reductions, the firm's traditional consulting staff is not expected to be significantly impacted, as per the report.
With a global workforce exceeding 45,000 employees spread across 130 cities worldwide, McKinsey continues to navigate the challenges posed by shifts in client demand within the consulting industry.
