The members of ICF Mumbai celebrated the International Coach Federation (ICF) recently. During the several events hosted by International Coaching Week (ICW), the fraternity celebrated annual global celebration of the coaching profession.
The President of the Mumbai Chapter, CN Murthy, PCC said, “An organization’s need to innovate, learn and build leadership at every level, is calling out louder than ever before.”
“The initiative aims to raise the contribution of the manufacturing sector to 25% of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) by the year 2025 from its current 16%,” he said in a statement to BW People.
“As ICF Mumbai we are thrilled to have hosted three webinars and a few Corporate Coaching Taster events this year. They have helped build awareness about coaching and has also helped the coaching fraternity enhance their knowledge.”
On being asked on the purpose and responses of International Coaching Week Murthy said “Details of the three webinar speakers and the topics that were chosen for debate and learning have been circulated. More than 50 coaches from across India attended each webinar and the response was very appreciative. The mission is to help work at deep levels of human awareness to drive new thinking that creates excellence.”
The team of coaches who contributed in making the initiative a success was Priya Sharma Shaikh, Harmeet Anand, Nidhi Arora, Latha Iyer, Narayanan Shankaran, Anjali Choudhari, Kartik Vyas, Swati Srivastava, Aparna Mehra, Pradeep Vaishnav, Gopal Sehjpal and Sujatha Jain”
Harmeet Anand who hosted the webinar on Somatic Coaching by BEATRIZ GARCIA, PCC said,“Beatriz empathised on aspects of the Body and that our body always tells the truth. We learnt that we all have the ability to choose the right body disposition most suitable to get the kind of results we are looking for, but we don’t know most of the time that we need to make a shift in our body dispositions as well.”
The webinar featuring ELENA ESPINAL, MCC was hosted by Priya Sharma Shaikh, “It was a joy to host Elena who took time out from her vacation to share about Competencies and Sensibilities. She says we are historical beings and that we live more from the past because we are placed in our stories. As a coach we do not fix the past and instead focus on making our coaches do a shift from doingness to beingness so that they can create a future that is not a continuation of their past.”
The last webinar of the week had ANDY MOLINSKY as the guest speaker. This event was hosted by Nidhi Arora who said, “Andy, the author of Global Dexterity and Reach, Brandeis Professor and Harvard Business Review writer Harvard University said that if you are not out of your comfort zone, you won't learn anything. He discussed how simple but effective techniques can to help Y=you step outside your comfort zone, rise to the challenge and build confidence.
The Coaching Taster at Geometry Global Encompass was led by Amitabha Sinha, while Wizcraft International Entertainment was led by Arun Vishwanath and the Lodha Group event was led by S. Kalyanaraman.
