IBM Asks Employees To Volunteer For Layoffs

IBM is reportedly encouraging employees who want to take voluntary redundancy to come forward as the corporation launches another round of worldwide job layoffs. The layoffs will focus on roles in Europe as the corporation strives to reduce down.

During a Q4 earnings call last month, IBM used the term 'resource action' to describe layoffs. According to The Register, IBM's programme is considered as "transformative" rather than purely financial.

According to the report, 80 per cent of the reduction target is geared towards Enterprise Operations & Support (EO&S), Q2C missions, and Finance & Operations.

According to reports, IBM's reduction aim will affect workforce numbers in Europe by around 50 per cent. However, the company prefers to lay off individuals who are prepared to accept voluntary redundancy rather than involuntarily terminating those who prefer to stay, it noted.
