Google Announces More Job Cuts Amid Company Restructuring

Google is undergoing a round of job cuts, the company confirmed, as part of its ongoing efforts to streamline operations and reduce costs.

While the exact number of affected employees and the specific teams involved have not been disclosed, Google stated that impacted workers will have the opportunity to apply for internal positions. Additionally, a portion of affected roles will be relocated to other global hubs that Google is actively investing in, such as Dublin, India, Chicago, and Atlanta.

A Google spokesperson emphasised that these changes are aimed at optimising efficiency, removing unnecessary layers, and aligning resources with the company's top priorities. The restructuring aims to provide employees with more opportunities to contribute to key projects while reducing bureaucracy.

This announcement reflects a broader trend of job cuts within the tech industry. Earlier this year, Google announced significant layoffs, following similar moves in 2023 when the company revealed plans to cut thousands of jobs.
