Coca-Cola will permanently close its Dunedin factory later this year, laying off roughly 200 employees, according to a WARN notice posted on the Florida Commerce website.
The factory on San Christopher Drive is scheduled to close on 31 May, according to the WARN notice. Layoffs are slated to start on 5 April.
According to the notice, the 198 workers who will be affected were informed of the layoffs on 5 February. Some personnel will continue on for a short time after the closure date to "assist with administrative tasks related to the facility's closure."
A Coca-Cola representative told WFLA.com that all volume from the factory would be transferred to a local, third-party co-packer.
