Winning Stroke: Interview with Santosh Kumar Choubey, Founder AISECT

If not in the current Profession, You would be?

I’ve grown up being a great admirer of Music. It has influenced my life in multifarious ways. So if not

the current profession, I would have loved to be a musician!

One tune you always hum?

My favourite would be "Suhana Safar Aur ye Mausam Haseen" by Mukesh, beautifully penned by

Shailendra, from the movie Madhumati.

One Book to read when you want to motivate yourselves?

I personally prefer ‘The Guide for the perplexed’ by E.F. Schumacher.

One Dialogue of a movie that motivates you or you like the most?

The iconic ‘Mere Paas Maa hai’ from Deewar. Back in our times, it was not only iconic; it was also

inspirational for people who were looking to do big in life without a proper support base.

The Place you never been to and always want to go?

As a child I always wanted to visit Mauritius. I still haven’t got a chance to be there; if an opportunity

arises, I’d definitely love to be there.

6) An animal that signifies you & why?

My colleagues and family members are better placed to answer this question! But if you ask me –

‘Lion’ for his ferocious Leadership and aggressive temperament.

A Movie Character you most resemble or resonate with?

Nana Patekar in Prahar and Ab Tak Chhappan

Choose one from each below :

   a)      Marvel or DC – DC

   b)     Batman or Superman- Batman

   c)     Tom or Jerry - Tom

   d)      Chacha Chaudhary or Super Commando Dhruv - Chacha Chaudhary

If your life was to be turned into a movie who would you like to play your part?

As an Amitabh Bachaan fan, I’d be happy if he plays that. Moreover, the kind of intensity with which

he acts would be ideal for my role!

Luck or Hard Work, What do you think weighs more in defining a successful Person?

I believe that ‘Hard Work creates Luck.’

One best decision you ever made?

I believe forfeiting administrative and engineering services for my passion was the best ever decision

I have made. It led me to where I stand today, and the kind of joy I get in serving the people around

me.

A strategy that you always use to take your decisions in Personal or Professional life?

All my decisions are Team decisions. I take everybody’s opinion into account; it has always helped

me to form a broader perspective around everyday problems. Apart from that, I believe in thorough

research about issues before actually taking up decisions.

Whose advise you seek when in dilemma?

My Wife, Vinita, has been a great inspiration and a pillar of strength in my journey. I can’t imagine

myself standing at the podium I stand today without her constant support and undying motivation.

What has been your biggest achievement?

When you’re into community service, no achievement is a personal achievement. However, my

favourite moment, which brought a feeling of pride and enhanced determination in my life, would

be receiving the Indian Innovation Award from my idol, President Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam.

One thing that you want to change in yourself?

I believe sometimes I let my emotional instincts take over me. I think I need to be tougher in

situations.

A line said by your closed one that you never forget?

"Live every day like it’s your last" by my father Mr. Jagannath Prasad Choubey.
