Times Internet Limited (TIL), the Times Group's digital division, has laid off over 120 employees in the last three days, according to exchange4media sources.
This is TIL's second round of layoffs, following the loss of 100 jobs in August, despite previous assurances that it was a "one-time exercise."
Employees were caught off guard by the recent layoffs, which were carried out discreetly via individual phone calls, according to sources.
Employees from various industries were reportedly given three-month severance packages, and their email addresses were promptly terminated. Insiders believe the layoffs are part of a larger integration process in preparation for the Times Group's split between the Jain brothers.
