Shoji Morimoto Living His Dream Job And Being Paid For Doing Nothing: Hillarious

The 38-years old Tokyo resident Shoji Morimoto is being paid for his dream job where he does not do any task. Shoji charges 10,000 yen ($71) per booking to accompany the clients.

Not associated with any company or firm, the Japanese man works as a companion to the clients who need one companion to go anywhere. He has tasks like going with someone to the park, sitting with a stranger in a restaurant, and waving at complete strangers who want a send off.

Last week, Shoji accompanied 27-years old Aruna Chida who wanted to wear Indian attire and thought that could embarrass her friends, so she picked Shoji as her companion. They both had tea and cake over sparse conversation.

"With my friends I feel I have to entertain them, but with the rental-guy (Morimoto) I don't feel the need to be chatty," Chida shared her experience with Shoji as her companion.

For Shoji Morimoto the companionship job is the only source of earning income and livelihood, this job might be unproductive for the rest of the society but for him it is the sole way to bring money to his wife and child. Morimoto is reaching to have a quarter of million followers on Twitter. Most of his clients are repeat customers who have already hired him multiple times. He has one client who has hired him 270 times.

For this job, Morimoto said "Basically, I rent myself out. My job is to be wherever my clients want me to be and to do nothing in particular,".
