Is 4.5 days’ Work Week To Become The New Normal For Companies?

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is now reporting higher productivity and lower absenteeism, according to a UAE minister who recently spoke at the World Economic Forum in Davos. This comes five months after the UAE rolled out a policy where employees now work only 4.5 days a week.

This month, 60 companies in the UK are also participating in a trial where their employees will work only 4 days a week.

This work style allows them to be much more productive and have a better work-life balance, which builds loyalty towards employers.

Joining the bandwagon is Cimpress, a pioneer in the mass customization industry, through the introduction of recharge Fridays. Recharge Fridays are half-days off, in addition to the PTO. They are intended to be a coordinated opportunity for everyone to look after their wellbeing, to encourage work/life harmony and spend this time doing whatever it is that helps our employees recharge their batteries.

This becomes all the more crucial since more employees than ever are quitting the workforce in what is being called The Great Resignation. Job openings are staying vacant for longer, and more companies are now adopting employee-friendly practices such as these to boost morale and retain employees

We are seeking an interview opportunity for Cimpress, which has recently adopted a 4.5 day workweek policy through recharge fridays. Cimpress’ employees are already working from home, and this move will further cement the company’s position as an employee-friendly workplace.
