Training and growth go hand in hand, and organisations are recognising this fact now more than ever before. The human resource personnel across companies is recognising the importance of employee development to achieve these goals.

Reconising this fact, BW Businessworld organised its annual HR Excellence and Summit Awards. In a panel discussion at the event titled, ‘Enable Organisations Profitability Through Training and Development'. The panel saw participation of Ashish Chaturaj, head HR, Pay U payments, Ruchi Batra, Head HR, Beetel Teletch Ltd, Gaurika Tandon, Head learning and engagement, Bennett Coleman and co ltd, Subhendu Ghoshal, CHRO, Shivalik Small Finance Bank, Kavita Dasan, VP, People Practice Team, ABP Network. The panel was moderated by Ruhail Amin, Sr Editor, BW Businessworld.

Talking about the evolution of the training process, Chaturaj noted, “There is a marked shift from training to learning.” Summing up this point, Tandon noted, “Learning has shifted, now we can do a virtual byte size session, we can learn on the phone, etc.” Elaborating further on the topic, “Organisations are spending more on learning than hiring.” Noted Ghoshal.
